The cost of running a residential center in California is extremely high compared to other parts of the country and world. Some of these costs include staff salaries and taxes, building and ground maintenance for a 108-acre property, fire and other insurance, utilities (which includes extensive water treatment and testing), accounting services, food for residents, to name a few.
